Ask me what my staple pieces are for the winter months and I’ll quickly tell you it’s a great pair of statement boots and a chic piece of outerwear. The combination of the two together will instantly have you washing your winter wardrobe blues away. So, today I wanted to share 5 of my favorite winter coat trends at a *very affordable price I might add* that you can incorporate into your wardrobe:

The Leather Lewk: Leather has consistently been a go-to texture for the Fall/Winter months for years. It’s a timeless and transformative wardrobe piece which is done in varying color iterations. I love the warmth of this butterscotch color for both seasons. The trench coat length will be sure to keep you warm and is a show-stopping combo with long, statement boots.

The Puffer: Puffer coats are back! I want to say my first memory of the puffer coat is all of the fun color ways that Old Navy did years ago when I was growing up. I think the colors are still cool to this day but if you want to keep it elevated I would stick with more muted, pastel tones. I also absolutely love the leather and vinyl puffers that I have seen out there. I have my eye on both and think I’ll pull the trigger soon on adding these to my personal wardrobe even though I have more than enough coats *insert upside down smile emoji*

Quintessentially Quilted: The quilted look is a new style I’ve noticed. It reminds me of the barn coats that were popular in high school except now they look way cooler IMO. The quilting is scaled a bit bigger and is such a good layering piece when you want to keep things casual. This is the perfect coat to grab for to pair with the athleisure looks we’ve been living in.

Teddy: The shearling teddy coat was all of the rave last year and it continues. These coats are my favorite because it literally feels like you are walking around wearing a blanket. They are so warm, cozy and chic. Great for layering over a monochromatic sweatsuit set and throwing on a cute beanie. This is the ultimate easy, street-style look chefs kiss*

Fleece Pullover: Equally as warm as a shearling teddy coat is a fleece pullover. I recently purchased a cute tie-dye one from Target that I’ve been throwing on to run errands. What’s so fun about the fleece are the punchy colors and different patterns they come in. A much more trend forward take on the ever so popular North Face fleeces that everyone had to have back in the day.

There is a coat for everyone! Leveling up your coat game is the key to keeping your winter wardrobe fresh.
