Balancing Basics: Shopping for Blazers in the Summer

If you are new here, I have an immense love for blazers. They are such a great statement piece for your wardrobe and can be worn a multitude of ways and across many different seasons. Yes, you can totally shop for and wear blazers during the summer! It’s a great little piece to throw over a slip dress for your next date night or over a flirty body suit like the one that I’m wearing here. Below are 3 things to keep in mind when shopping for your next Summer blazer:

1.) Color: Summer is a season for lighter, cooler tones. Stick to pastels, neutrals and whites. I have been loving mint lately, and just purchased this blush pink and a baby blue to add to my summer blazer assortment.

2.) Material: Stick to lighter linen fabrics to help you stay cool! This should be an unspoken but stay away from wools, and heavier fabrications until we get into the cooler months.

3.) Layer: Layer underneath with barely- there styles like a spaghetti strap slip dress or a breathable textured bodysuit. This gives you the opportunity to sport a cute piece when the blazer gets to be too warm.
